Early Spring Wedding at The Arbory – Meredith & Matt
This year, my wedding season began with Meredith and Matt’s March wedding at The Arbory. This time of year in Chicago always feels a little unpredictable, and their celebration perfectly captured that transition between winter and spring. We had a mix of spring blooms, longer daylight hours, and even a few surprise snowflakes in the afternoon. One of my favorite parts of the day was when their sweet pup Marty came to visit for photos! Remember this guy from their downtown Chicago engagement session? I knew it was going to be an incredible day before it even started.
First Look at The Robey Chicago
Meredith and Matt got ready separately at The Robey in Wicker Park. If you’re looking for a unique hotel experience on your wedding day, I highly recommend staying here! Not only is the window light a photographer’s dream, but the panoramic views of Chicago are unbeatable. The best place to access that view is at the Up Room (The Robey’s rooftop cocktail lounge). This also happens to be a prime photo location at the hotel – and we were lucky enough to have it all to ourselves for their first look.
Garfield Park Conservatory Wedding Photos
After a few tears and endless smiles, Meredith and Matt were ready to continue the celebration. Our next stop was one of my favorite photo locations in the city, Garfield Park Conservatory. This place always feels magical no matter the season. The lush, tropical greenery was the perfect contrast to the early spring weather outside. Shout out to their wedding party for embracing the busy weekend and helping us create some really fun and beautiful memories here!
The Arbory Chicago Wedding
Before long, it was time to head to The Arbory. We wanted to capture some stunning portraits inside the space before festivities officially began, and these are some of my favorites from the entire day. And, guess who was waiting for us with a big smile and wagging tail? If you guessed Marty, you are correct!
That evening, Matt and Meredith were married underneath the venue’s signature skylight surrounded by their favorite people. Matt’s cousin Ben officiated the ceremony – you may recognize him from Michell and Trevor’s wedding last spring! Once the glass was broken, there were shouts of Mazel Tov and these two were happy as can be. Celebration continued well into the night with heartfelt words from their guests, references to Taylor Swift, and a dance floor that didn’t quit. This day was a pleasure to capture and I’m so happy to have been a part of it!
Meredith and Matt: Thank you again for trusting my team to document your memories this year. Wishing you the very best in Married Life and all that’s to come!
