Happy #fridaythe13th! Thought I’d take this opportunity to share my first Friday Introductions of 2026. If we haven’t met, I’m Emma: Cat Whisperer, World Traveler, Chicago Wedding Photographer. A few facts about me:
* I first studied photography in my high school dark room, which quickly became my favorite hobby. If you would have told me back then that one day I’d create a business out of taking photos, I would not have believed you.
* While I’ve been a cat lady for most of my adult life, I LOVE dogs, too! I’ve never had cats and dogs at the same time, but that’s another #lifegoal I’d like to achieve.
* My favorite holiday tradition in recent years is watching Die Hard on Christmas Eve. Nothing beats Alan Rickman (RIP) getting outsmarted by Bruce and Carl Winslow being a complete badass. I have the entire film memorized and quote it on a weekly basis (#itstrue)
* Traveling is a huge part of my life. I don’t know what I would do with myself if I couldn’t explore new places. As an artist, it fuels my creativity, and as a human being it keeps me curious. And YES, we do photograph destination weddings!
* This year my partner Jeremy and I will both celebrate milestone birthdays, AND our 10 year wedding anniversary! I cannot believe how quickly the time has flown… it’s one of the reasons I take my role very seriously on wedding days. While we eloped in October, we threw a big party for family and friends a few months later on - you guessed it - a Friday the 13th 🙂
