Unabridged Bookstore Engagement Session – Julie & Kevin

Julie and Kevin are getting married in THREE DAYS! In honor of their wedding week, I’m excited to share their Chicago bookstore engagement session starting at Unabridged. One of my favorite things about getting a couple in front of my camera before wedding day is being able to witness a slice of their lives. These two happened to be regulars at Unabridged when they first started dating, and it was so cool to revisit and celebrate their engagement.

Unabridged Bookstore Engagement

I met these two on a Friday afternoon at the bookstore, and Julie and Kevin were adorable as can be. We started by browsing the Science Fiction (his) and Romance (hers) sections, stopping a few times to imagine their meet-cute! It wasn’t long before we stumbled upon a Sherlock Holmes series… so of course we had to feature these in honor of their pup, Sherlock. Though I didn’t get to meet the little guy during their engagement session, rumor has it he’ll make an appearance on Wedding Day.

Romantic Chicago Skyline

Our second location was Diversey Harbor, a short walk from the bookstore. The lakefront and Chicago skyline made a beautiful backdrop, and the overcast sky somehow seemed to perfectly match their wedding color palette. It’s like we planned the session for their Save the Dates! We chatted about movies, food, traveling and wedding planning… did you know that Barcelona has the second-most gluten-free restaurants in the world? It’s true (Buenos Aires is the first)! Kevin and Julie could not stop smiling, and are clearly so smitten with each other. The photos with the city lights in the background are my absolute favorites.
