Tuscany Wedding Welcome Party at Villa Moscheni

I could not be more excited to finally share images from Carrie and Brandon’s Tuscany wedding weekend this spring! Their Welcome Party at Villa Moscheni was the beginning of their unforgettable weekend in Italy. Some of my favorite images below, captured on digital + film.

Many of you know I joined a group of photographers and floral designers from around the world for the Primavera Workshop in May. Hosted by D’Arcy Benincosa and Dawn Weisberg, the week brought together a group of creatives for education, exploration, and the opportunity to design and photograph a real wedding. The three-day celebration was hosted at a villa in Capannori, a small town just outside the Medieval city of Lucca.

That afternoon, we got to have a pre-wedding photo session with Carrie and Brandon around the property. These two looked absolutely fabulous, and the villa provided the perfect setting for some relaxed portraits before festivities began. Having this time alone with them was such a treat – as you can see, they are absolutely smitten with each other, and Carrie loved every minute of being photographed. Fun fact: Carrie is a wedding photographer herself, based in California!

Pizza and Prosecco

The Welcome Party officially kicked off in the villa gardens with prosecco, rose petals, and their guests dressed in white. I could not get enough of the red and pink color palette! Thankfully, the forecasted rain held off, giving everyone time to enjoy the lawn and catch up before dinner. Guests enjoyed homemade pizza on the villa terrace, which completely captured the spirit of an Italian summer evening. The hanging florals, retro-inspired lampshades, fresh tomatoes, and candlelight created such a fun and romantic ambiance.
