Mexico City Elopement-Style Photo Session – Luisella & Pedro
If you have been following along on Instagram, you know that Mexico City has my heart. My Spanish language-immersion journey has led me there twice this year, and I’m already planning my next visit! This summer, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Luisella and Pedro for a Mexico City elopement-style sunrise session. These two arrived looking absolutely stunning and as in love as ever. Plus, I had just purchased a new film camera from Cámaras Clásicas and was eager to try it out with these two!
Sunrise at Palacio de Bellas Artes
There is something magical about Mexico City at sunrise. The streets are calm, the light is soft, and the energy feels fresh. I met Luisella and Pedro in front of my favorite building in the city, el Palacio de Bellas Artes. Luisella wore a flirty silk dress by Enza Costa and Pedro looked dapper in a classic black suit. We danced and played outside the palace, making sure to capture the architecture in all its glory. In this moment, the city felt so grand and so intimate at the same time.
Strolling Through Alameda Central
We took a stroll to nearby Alameda Central, which I recently learned is the oldest public park in North America! Early mornings here are peaceful, with wide open paths before the countless vendors and park-goers arrive. The light was so dreamy filtering through the trees, and Luisella and Pedro couldn’t resist soaking it all in. Another thing I learned on this trip is that summers in Mexico City always bring lots of rain. We are lucky the weather gods were on our side, and gave us this gorgeous, golden light to play with!
La Casa de los Azulejos
Our final destination was La Casa de los Azulejos, another historic palace in el Centro Histórico featuring signature blue and white tiles. What’s more: the building also happens to house one of many Sanborns locations in the city! The architecture and intricate details gave us endless inspiration, both inside and outside. These two fit seamlessly into the scene, definitely giving that Newlywed vibe! After this session, I can officially say I’m obsessed with Mexico City as an elopement location. The blend of history, style and romance is unmatched.
