Markree Castle Wedding Editorial on Digital + Film

Our second day in Ireland as part of the Intrigue Retreat was just as incredible as the first. After our moody Ireland wedding editorial the previous evening, the floral team were up early working on the main event design. The magic they created inside and outside the castle walls was more impressive than I could have imagined. Blooms framed the castle facade in the most dramatic way – I was so excited for the day to begin!

Markree Castle Wedding

Lauren and Billy joined us on the castle grounds that afternoon in the golden sunshine. Each of them were dressed to the nines: a soft and romantic daytime look for Lauren, and classic black tuxedo for Billy. Flowing fabrics and delicate details paired beautifully with the regal setting. Lauren and Billy were all smiles, soaking in the unseasonable fall weather and stunning backdrop in every direction. Truly, this scene was straight out of a fairytale.

Inside, yet another stunning reception room created the perfect backdrop for more intimate portraits. Naturally, the historic rooms of the castle added even more character to the scene. The bold red color palette echoed the day before, with the addition of mauve and berry tones in the florals and drapery. Fresh fruits and vegetables gave rich color and texture – including plums, grapes, and an infamous eggplant (everyone’s favorite!).

Golden Hour and Evening Glam

As the sun began to set, Lauren changed into her evening reception look. This Pronovias gown was my favorite! It brought all the sparkle and style, and it felt perfect for the celebration ahead. We took the opportunity to create some romantic golden hour portraits near the river behind the castle – and Lauren even had a moment in the boat! I will never get over the way the light made her glow… this was such a memorable part of the day.

Finally, we wrapped our session with more portraits on the grounds during the last moments of daylight. Lauren and Billy were a dream in front of the camera – they brought the style, the energy, and the joy! I’m so grateful we had a chance to create this magic together.
