Italian Afternoon in Lucca with Robert & Morgana

Many of you know that I had the opportunity to visit Tuscany this spring for the Primavera Workshop hosted by D’Arcy Benincosa. Our first styled shoot was a Lucca engagement session with Robert and Morgana, who joined us from Milan! We met up at the Orto Botanico and got to spend the afternoon playing with light, fabrics, and capturing these two interact. They had natural chemistry and were absolutely adorable together, allowing us to get creative while capturing some real, candid moments. It was the perfect way to enjoy a spring Italian afternoon in the garden.

Robert looked dapper in his custom suit, while Morgana wore a stunning Mac Duggal dress that glistened in the sunlight. Halfway through the shoot, we added a long train for Met Gala vibes on the steps of the main building and created some really fun editorial photos of Morgana in her element. Some of my favorites from this entire session were captured on film.

Lucca Engagement Photos

After taking our time among the flowers and lemon trees, we headed into the streets of Lucca for a change of scenery. The historic center feels like stepping onto a movie set, with Medeival architecture and cobblestone streets.

Sidenote: If you don’t know about Lucca, it’s one of Tuscany’s most charming and historic cities. Its Renaissance walls stretch for more than four kilometers and completely envelop the city center, creating a star-like fortified shape that remains intact today. Another fun fact: only locals are permitted to operate a motor vehicle within the city walls, so visitors must explore on foot or by bicycle. If you’re ever traveling through the Tuscany region, I highly recommend making a stop in Lucca!

Robert and Morgana: Thank you for your talent and professionalism in Lucca! It was a pleasure working with you both, I’m glad we got to enjoy the Primavera in Italy.
