Goose Island Barrel House Wedding – Savrina & Daniel
One of the highlights of our summer wedding season was Savrina and Daniel’s Goose Island Barrel House wedding! This eventful day was filled with emotion, personal details, delicious beer, and so much love for these two. Chicago weather could not have been more beautiful, and Sasha and I were so excited to capture their celebration.
Chicago Portraits and Film Photography
The morning began with Savrina and Daniel getting ready separately, followed by an emotional first look at a nearby park. These two could not be more adorable together, and are always up for collaborating on photo ideas! From there, we created some very Chicago portraits underneath the El tracks before heading downtown for iconic city locations. Both Savrina and Daniel share my love of film photography, and these are some of my favorite photos from the entire day.
Goose Island Barrel House Wedding
Before long, we were on our way to Barrel House to get ready for the ceremony. But first, a quick stop at nearby Humboldt Park! This was our first wedding at Goose Island Barrel House, and I absolutely love that it’s so close to the park. Humboldt Park is always so picturesque this time of year, and it’s an easy photo location for any couple getting married at the venue.
Finally, it was time to get these two married. Their intimate candlelit ceremony was held in the cellar, surrounded by their favorite people from near and far. Daniel had been studying Korean, and surprised everyone – including his bride – by reciting his vows in her native language! This is one of the most romantic things I have seen in all my years of photographing weddings… I don’t think there was a dry eye in the entire room.
That evening, guests enjoyed flowing beer and a delicious meal surrounded by the unique details of the space. The gothic-style architecture and hanging chandeliers were inspiring, to say the least! We created some stunning newlywed portraits inside the cellar – I absolutely loved collaborating with these two. Highlights of the evening were the brewery tour during cocktail hour, DIY flower bar, and homemade wedding cake by Daniel’s father.
Savrina and Daniel: Thank you again for inviting us to capture your wedding memories! It has been a pleasure collaborating with you both this year, Sasha and I couldn’t be happier for you two.
