Chicago Fall Engagement Featuring CTA and Sadie the Bulldog
It’s starting to feel a bit more like fall here in Chicago… which has always been the most popular time of year for engagement photos! Mike and Katie will tie the knot next month, and we decided to lean into the season for their engagement session. Of course, we had to include their pup Sadie the English Bulldog for a few! Isn’t she the sweetest?? We met at their home and took Sadie for an afternoon stroll around the block 🙂
CTA Engagement
Something I love about engagement sessions is the flexibility we have to do whatever we want. When I first met Katie and Mike, they mentioned wanting to highlight their neighborhood and everyday lives in their engagement photos. One thing that represents that is the CTA! Katie particularly loves the view from the Armitage Brown line platform, so we couldn’t help but stop there for a few photos before heading downtown. I am always up for keeping your engagement session as unique to you as possible… besides, what’s more “Chicago” than the El?! These are some of my favorite images from our session!
Blue Hour Engagement Photos
We hopped on the brown line and headed downtown, accidentally riding the entire Loop! By the time we got to our stop, the sun was just setting – but that also meant that the city lights were on (my fave!). The Chicago Theatre marquee was all lit up, and we were lucky to play here for a few minutes before heading to the river. This time of night we call “Blue Hour” – about 30-45 minutes after sunset when it’s not completely dark yet. An alternative to Golden Hour, if you will! Blue Hour allows for some super romantic photos, and I’m so happy we got to make the most of it during our session!
Katie and Mike: Your fall engagement session last year was such a blast! Can’t wait to make it official next month!!
