Mary & Maggie’s Cocktail Bar Engagement Session at Clara

Chicago summer is in full swing, which means it’s one of the most popular times for engagement photos in the city! Maggie and Mary’s cocktail bar engagement session was the perfect neighborhood date night and slice of summer all in one. These two will tie the knot here in Chicago next January, which made soaking up the summer weather even more special. Personally, I love when couples choose different themes or seasons for their wedding and engagement photos.

Clara Cocktail Bar

We started our session at Clara on one of the hottest summer days. This is Mary and Maggie’s go-to spot in Wicker Park – and cooling off with cocktails was a great idea! Clara has a mix of natural light, delicious beverages, and a speakeasy vibe – and they regularly host live music! If this sounds like your kind of place, I highly recommend checking it out. We were lucky to explore a few locations before the seats filled up with patrons. Big thanks to the staff for allowing us to take photos inside the space!

Wicker Park Engagement Photos

As the sun began to set, we made our way back to their home for photos on the back porch. Maggie and Mary enjoy spending time out here when the weather is nice, and it’s not hard to see why! In fact, these two proposed to each other with a crossword puzzle and card game, so recreating their game night only felt natural. After creating some intimate and meaningful portraits at their home, we took a quick stroll down the block to showcase the neighborhood. These two were in sync the entire time, and adorable as can be. I’m already counting the days until their winter wedding!
