Breanna & David’s Romantic Chicago Winter Engagement Featuring Kibbitznest
Breanna and David’s Chicago winter engagement session felt like a day in the life of their own personal love story. It’s exactly what I encourage all of our couples to think about when planning their session: what makes your relationship uniquely yours? David and Breanna absolutely crushed it with their location ideas, not to mention the way they look at each other with or without the camera. The weather was not abnormal for early March in Chicago – but we made it extra special.
Cozy Bookstore Moments
I met these two at Kibbitznest, one of their favorite local bookstores that happens to double as a bar (and dessert shop)! Haven’t heard of this place? It’s worth the hype – definitely check it out! We took our time browsing the bookshelves, enjoying the space, and they even had a quick Wordle match. My favorite part was when Breanna jumped on the piano to grace us with her skills! These two were adorable as can be and could not stop smiling.
Big thanks to the Kibbitznest staff for letting us take photos inside. Besides being one of Chicago’s most unique spots to hang out or take a date, it’s full of photogenic locations. I will be back!
Romantic Chicago Fog
Our next stop was the popular Chicago Lakefront, one of the best skyline viewpoints in the city. But, this time was different! Not only was there zero skyline visibility that evening, but the city was covered in a thick, white fog that made us feel like we were in a cloud. Breanna and David couldn’t help but turn up the romance, and we walked as far out into it as we could. Where the horizon ended and the sky began, we will never know.
This was one of the most unique, romantic, and cinematic engagement sessions I’ve ever photographed… and I hope it encourages more couples to try something out of the norm! I’m so happy these two wanted to embrace the weather and capture these moments that are, again, so uniquely them. Of course, we ended with donuts from Kibbitznest (D surprised B), making it all feel full circle.
Breanna and David: Thank you for letting me step into your world for a day. Your Chicago winter engagement session was one for the books. I’m so excited for you to make it official this summer!
