Pooja & Matt’s Sangeet at Ovation Chicago

In June, our team had the honor of photographing Pooja and Matt’s Chicago wedding weekend, starting with their Sangeet at Ovation! This was the perfect way to welcome their favorite people for an incredible weekend of celebration. Guests gathered that evening in their most vibrant Indian attire for a night full of mingling, delicious food, hilarious speeches and LOTS of dancing. Nohemi and Jules were there to capture it all.

Ovation Chicago Sangeet

If you’re not familiar, a Sangeet is a pre-wedding celebration that brings family and friends together through music, dancing, and live performances. It’s a chance for loved ones on both sides to meet, many for the first time, and celebrate the couple before wedding day. Pooja and Matt’s Sangeet featured all of the above, including a live Henna artist! Before the formal festivities began, Nohemi was lucky enough to take these two out on Fulton for portraits with the venue’s legendary Rolls Royce.

Pre-Wedding Day Event

One of our favorite things about photographing a pre-wedding celebration is getting to meet your VIPs before Wedding Day. Why does that matter? That means we’ll already have an idea of the vibe and energy or your group, and be on a first-name basis with your faves when we arrive for the main event! This is a true luxury – as anyone who’s ever been photographed knows, the most natural and creative images happen when you’re comfortable in front of the camera. Not only is this helpful for us, but guests get to see how we work and enjoy the photography as well. If you’re considering having your Rehearsal Dinner or Welcome Party photographed, you cannot go wrong!
