Alex & Mark’s Chicago Lakefront Engagement Session

Alex and Mark are getting married in just a few weeks! Today I’m excited to share their Chicago lakefront engagement session, filled with sunshine, greenery, and ending with a dip in the lake. This session really felt like an ode to summer… and I am so looking forward to continuing the celebration on wedding day!

Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk

I met these two at the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk, just as golden hour had begun. Our plan was simple: stroll through the park, enjoy the summer weather, and make it to the lakefront before sunset. Alex and Mark were easy to photograph – somehow every corner of the park seemed to be the perfect backdrop. Not to mention, these two are absolutely adorable together! They actually share an engagement ring (awww!!), which we made sure to trade a few times during the session.

Chicago Lakefront Engagement Photos

We continued our stroll toward North Avenue Beach and the iconic city skyline. They laughed, danced, and played while taking in the view – and before long, they were ready for a swim! We walked along the pier to a jumping off point, and before we knew it, these two had taken the plunge! I’m so happy to finally have a couple want to end their session like this. We had such a blast, and it definitely made for some unique memories (and photos!). Fun fact: the lake jump is a callback to their actual engagement last year!
