Intimate Summer Wedding at Ada Street Chicago – Sarah & Wil
Sarah and Wil’s Ada Street Chicago wedding this summer was one for the books! I met up with Sarah at their South Loop home that morning, a space filled with gorgeous natural light. Before long, we were on our way to meet Wil for the first look! After their adorable Music Box engagement session, I was so excited to photograph their wedding day.
First Look at The Art Institute of Chicago
When we arrived at The Art Institute, Wil was just as eager to see Sarah. Their sweet first look in the North Garden left both of them beaming, surrounded by art, greenery, and the soft glow of summer light. We made our way around the building for more classic city photos with the wedding party, looking dapper themselves! Fun fact: some of my favorite images from this part of the day were captured on film.
Ada Street Chicago
Finally, it was time to head north to Ada Street Chicago. If you’ve never had the experience of dining here, I highly recommend it! The small restaurant is tucked away on – you guessed it – Ada Street, right between Wicker Park and Lincoln Park neighborhoods. It also happens to be Wil and Sarah’s favorite restaurant, making the decision to tie the knot here an easy one! Something I loved is that these two greeted their guests before the ceremony, instead of hiding away. This really set the tone for a warm and welcoming evening.
Intimate Garden Ceremony and Celebration
The intimate ceremony took place in Ada Street’s private garden, with a colorful mural and lush florals as the backdrop. Once these two were officially official, guests enjoyed a celebration that lasted well into the evening! Champagne and cocktails flowed, and dinner served family-style at two long tables. Every detail reflected Sarah and Wil’s love and appreciation for delicious food, great company, and each other. Their gluten-free cake by Defloured was a decadent summery treat!
As the night went on, the Newlyweds danced the night away. I’m lucky they agreed to step outside for some night portraits before we said goodbye! Wil and Sarah were still grinning ear to ear, and I don’t think their smiles faded the rest of the evening.
Sarah and Wil: Thank you again for having us in June! I’m thrilled that I got to experience Ada Street for the first time at your wedding, and couldn’t be happier for you both. CONGRATS again!!
