This year’s wedding season officially began for me in March, when Emily and John finally tied the knot. These two have been together for years, and a joy to work with over the past six months. My favorite thing about Emily and John is how obviously in love they are! Thanks for making my job easy, guys 🙂
The three of us unanimously decided to have their first look at the reception space, Salvage One. If you’ll recall from their (adorable) Engagement session, I have been eagerly anticipating my return to this venue for their wedding! The natural light is killer and it’s full of so many vintage artifacts and pieces, which the staff uses to set up the event space. This has easily become one of my choice locations for bride and groom portraits… you’ll see why.
Emily and John’s wedding was filled with many personal touches, including the same ring bearer pillow from Emily’s grandmother’s wedding and a (delicious) homemade cake from a personal friend. They wanted their families and friends to come together and enjoy good food, good beer, and happy times – and I think it’s safe to say they got their wish! Some of my favorite Chicago vendors also contributed to its success: not pictured are local brews from Off Color, Pollyanna, and Argus Brewing and good eats from Honky Tonk BBQ. Big thanks to Jeremy for 2nd shooting this with me.
Emily and John: A thousand thank yous for allowing me to capture your special day! I’m so lucky to have been a part of it all. I wish you all the best in your future together.
