Kaitlin and Evan. Where do I begin?! Their Milwaukee wedding hit home (quite literally) for so many reasons.
As you may recall from their recent Engagement session, Evan and I used to work together at the Fox Bay Cinema Grill while we both were in high school. Since then, he has made himself a culinary career! Now Executive Chef of Easy Tyger Restaurant on Brady Street, he and Kaitlin met in culinary school years ago and have become inseparable.
Their wedding was a celebration with family and friends from around the world, many of whom contributed to the festivities. With both of their backgrounds in hospitality (Kaitlin’s at Café Grace), it was important for their wedding celebration to be a collaboration of talents. Kate and Evan hired their own staff members, created their own menu, and even crafted some of the food themselves! And believe me – it was tasty 🙂
Kaitlin and Evan chose the historic Charles Allis Art Museum for their nuptials and reception. There were so many nooks and unique objects to explore in the space! Thunderstorms were in the forecast all day, but – as mother nature would have it – we were surprised with sunny blue skies (and some killer fog, too)! Evan and Kaitlin got to exchange vows on the lawn, exactly as planned. There were plenty of smiles to go around.
It’s not an easy task to photograph the wedding of a friend, and certainly not one to be taken lightly. I am so incredibly honored that Evan asked me to be a part of this! Getting to know Kaitlin has been wonderful, and they’re clearly a perfect match. It doesn’t take long after seeing them together to know how truly meant for each other they are.
Below are some favorites from the day. How can you tell it was a Wisconsin wedding? Let’s just say – there was plenty of cheese to go around…
